One young man, a worship leader from Florida, turned in a stunning performance on American Idol and wowed all three judges.
God has blessed everyone with unique skills, abilities and gifts. No two people have been gifted in the exact same way. Because God is generous with His gifts, talented people are everywhere, and the amount of talent they possess will often surprise you.
Isaiah Case, a 22-year-old worship pastor, has been blessed in the musical department. He can sing and write. But the tone and sound of his voice probably do not sound like any worship leader you’ve heard before. Instead, Isaiah sounds more like Chris Stapleton or any other number of country musicians.
In a clip posted on YouTube, Isaiah auditioned for American Idol by playing an original song of his and left the judges stunned with his voice and songwriting. They showered the young man with compliments.
Katy Perry began things off by recognizing how much everyone can relate to Isaiah’s song when “they aren’t living right.” “What a voice!” Katy told the 22-year-old.
Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie reinforced Katy’s statement by mentioning how much they both enjoyed and were pleasantly surprised by Isaiah’s voice.
Luke added that while they commonly get worship leaders who audition for the show, Isaiah’s voice stood out and differed from the rest.
“You know, it’s funny, we see worship leaders and most of the time they have like a real smooth, very proper voice, and you come out of the gate with some meat on that voice,” he said. “You got a lot of character in that. I mean, it’s certainly your voice.”
After their comments, it was a quick and easy vote. Lionel, Katy and Luke gave the young worship leader from Florida three yes votes.
