A trio of talented vocalists, The Booth Brothers, turned in a fantastic performance, singing a classic and beloved tune about placing all their trust and hope in Jesus Christ.

The world is an unkind, cruel, upsetting and confusing place. Living in such a location where it appears that evil lurks around every corner can and does cause many to seek answers and comfort. Unfortunately, in their distress, people will turn to entirely wrong sources for those answers. Some people might place their trust in material objects like money or even in certain politicians who promise them everything or say whatever they want to hear.

But, of course, Christians know that believing and having hope in anything other than Jesus Christ is a recipe for disaster. When the money becomes worthless, and the politician is found to be yet (unsurprisingly) another liar, Christ remains. He is always faithful, loving and merciful.

The Booth Brothers, who perform “In Christ Alone” before a packed house, sing about the one true source of hope, healing and strength. He has never let anyone down, always showing tremendous love. Christ even willingly gave His life up as a sacrifice, taking our place on the cross.

“In Christ alone, my hope is found

He is my light, my strength, my song

This Cornerstone, this solid ground

Firm through the fiercest drought and storm”

As the track’s lyrics mention, Christ has and will remain by our side through the good and the bad, providing comfort, healing and strength. He can calm all our fears and worries, giving the answers and the truth that so many are actively seeking.

Placing trust and hope in anything or anyone else is foolishness. Possessions wear and tear and break down and people are not perfect and have a habit of letting us down, failing to live up to their word. But Christ has shown, through His love, mercy and grace, that He is the one source of hope and truth.

John 14:6 “Jesus said to him, ‘I am the true and living way: no one comes to the Father but by me.”
