A pop star teamed up with a legendary figure in the entertainment world, combining forces for a catchy, toe-tapping song.

Dolly Parton can and has done it all. The beloved Hollywood icon has produced classic and hit songs for decades. She has appeared in several memorable films and has even written a number of books. At 77 years old, the “Jolene” singer remains a force in the entertainment industry. Dolly has shown no signs of slowing down.

This time, Dolly joined Bebe Rexha on her song “Seasons,” a tune about the one constant in everyone’s life: change. Seasons of change visit everyone. There is little, if anything, that can be done to avoid times of change and upheaval. Sometimes these periods come with warnings or indications, but often they occur with little prior notice.

In the official video for the song, which is in black and white, the two singers belt out the lyrics about dealing and being caught off guard by change. The song’s first verse, sung by Dolly and Bebe, states how everyone else seems to be handling change better than them. But instead of seeking and asking for help, they are going to go at it alone.

The lyrics in the song’s second verse, sung by Dolly, mention the mirror is a liar. It does not accurately reflect the person they are inside, Dolly sings. While they may be an adult on the outside, they remain a child inside – a scared, frightened child dealing with the changes taking place.

Changes throughout life can be overwhelming. As the singers point out, change can come when we’re least prepared for it. But no matter the circumstances, what may be happening around us, there is One who will always be there. He will never change!

Joshua 1:9 “Have I not given you your orders? Take heart and be strong; have no fear and do not be troubled; for the Lord, your God is with you wherever you go.”
