In this day and age, it’s all too easy to get caught up in a world of electronics and social media. Sometimes, we are so focused on the screens in front of us that we stop noticing the world around us. For instance, have you ever been to a restaurant and looked around to see couples or groups of friends all on their phones? It’s a common sight nowadays.

You would think social media would make us more social but it seems to be having the opposite effect. We are too focused on our screens and ignoring the relationships right in front of us. This video provides an eye-opening look at social media and how it is influencing our lives and the lives of the younger generation.

People will freely give up information online and post many personal things about themselves, but when it comes to a face-to-face interaction, it’s completely lacking. This seems to go against everything that social media set out to do in the first place. And with the rise in smartphones and children getting them at such a younger and younger age, I fear that this trend will only continue to rise.

This is such a powerful statement and it will truly get you thinking about setting the phone down and taking in the simple things of life that God gave us. I’m so glad that this message is starting to spread. Next time we are online, let’s all remember this speech and not to forget the world that is all around us.
