We all know bedtime routines can be rough, but have you ever lost to your furry friend? This man hilariously loses a bedtime argument with a stubborn dog who refuses to move. Meet Kyle, a self-proclaimed ‘Dog Dad’ from Ohio who fights every night with his 95-pound, four-legged roommate Wyatt. And Wyatt has a stubborn streak as big as his tail.
We’ve all been there; we treat our beloved furry friends like family members, but when it comes to bedtime, they don’t want to move off the bed or leave the room, much less move over to make room to the luxurious and cozy blankets of the bed. Especially if the human asking happens to be the spare human–you know, the one they love second best when their favorite isn’t around.
That’s how dog owner Kyle (spare human) found himself in the cold when Wyatt was already cuddled up with mom. It all started one evening when Kyle tried to claim his side of the bed. Wyatt, however, had other plans. In the video, you can see Kyle walking into the bedroom, where he finds his dog sprawled out like some kind of royalty, taking up 80 percent of the bed.
Kyle then tells Wyatt, “You’re supposed to be out there, helping me, but now you’re in my spot, all snuggled up like a bug in a rug in my spot.” Wyatt’s response was a form of groans, and he ignored Kyle to the best of his invisibility. Wyatt probably thought, “If I ignore him, he will go away.”
When Kyle realized Wyatt was not going to move for their nightly outing, he switched gears and tried to sweet-talk the dog. “Well, since we’re not going outside, do you want to scoot over?” Wyatt responded with more grunts and pawed at Kyle as if it say, “You snooze, you lose! I was here first!”
Kyle couldn’t help but laugh as he reminded Wyatt, “Hey you live here rent-free. You should move over,” as he tried to move the dog who was doing everything possible to move even an inch. It gets even funnier as Kyle then resorts to begging Wyatt to move over so he can at least have a slice of the bed. But Wyatt is adamant that it's his spot. Eventually, Kyle gives in and jokes as he leaves the room, stating, “Ridiculous, nobody loves me in this house,” as he covers Wyatt up and tucks him in.
Dog lovers everywhere can relate to Kyle’s bedtime debacle. Because let’s face it—when it comes to our furry companions, they always seem to have the upper paw. So, the next time you find yourself arguing with your dog about bedtime real estate, just remember: they don’t just steal your heart—they steal your side of the bed too. And if you’re not careful, you might end up in Kyle’s spot…on the couch, dreaming of the good old days when humans ruled the roost.
