Two immensely talented musicians performed a song about God’s love and shifting our focus and direction onto Him.
Life is often a busy, bustling, chaotic experience and filled with distractions. Daily life, with all its demands and obligations, can shift our focus onto things that are either wrong or don’t even matter in the first place.
In the video for the song “Kinda Wild,” Christian musicians JUDAH. and Ellie Holcomb sing about God’s amazing love. They also request that God turn their focus and shift their attention in a different direction. They both sing about their desire to see and understand the work God has been performing in their lives.
The song’s opening verse is a series of questions posed to God, asking Him how he’s working in their lives. They want to know what method He is using to communicate with them because they don’t want to miss it.
In order to not miss a message from the Lord, the chorus asks God to reorient their focus so that they can better pick up on Him working in their lives.
“So come and change my focus
I don’t notice where you’re going near enough
Come and change my focus
Help us know what you’ve been doing over us”
The song’s second verse also asks God about His chosen communication method. Also, the lyrics state that the singers may have overlooked God’s presence in their lives. They have been going after something, working toward a goal but they’ve been too busy and blind to notice God has been near them the entire time.
On his YouTube channel, JUDAH states what he hopes to do with his music. He wants to “scream out Christ’s love to followers and doubters alike, and share the real grace and redemption that’s been found by someone walking in their shoes.”
Romans 5:8 “But God has made clear his love to us, in that, when we were still sinners, Christ gave his life for us.”
