This cheerleader knows what it means to take back the game and you don’t want to miss the epic moment. An Indiana cheerleader saves the basketball game during March Madness with an epic stunt.

Cheerleaders are known to have athletic bodies, bright smiles, and chants to rally the crowd. Perhaps, what they are less known for is the hours of practice that goes into practicing stunts that not only build balance but also defy heights! And it’s a good thing this cheerleader and her cheer-mate take their cheerleading game seriously.

During a heightened game at the NCAA Tournament, the basketball got stuck between the backboard and the shot clock. The referees needed to get the game moving and hoped they could knock the ball loose after using a chair, a sign, and a stick of some sort to reach the ball. But the hoops are more than eight feet high.

Soon the crowd was rumbling to the referees to simply get a different ball. But one cheerleader had a quick and easy solution. She could simply stand on her cheer mate’s shoulders and reach the ball.

Once she looked at her cheer partner, the crowd and sports anchors knew exactly what she was going to do and her actions inspired everyone to stand and cheer her on. The moment she pulled the ball loose, the crowd absolutely went wild and rose to their feet.

Not only did she get a standing ovation, but she also received a big thank you from both teams as well.

The footage captured of her reducing the ball went viral with more than 1.1 million views. Those who watched the video left several encouraging comments. One viewer commented, “Without a doubt this is the play of the night should be on ESPN's top 10,” while another posted, “This is awesome . . . brought so many laughs and happiness to a lot of folks.  Wish everyone could just get along like this all the time.  Kudos to the cheer squad for stepping up (literally).”

And we couldn’t agree more. Her epic stunt saved March Madness on the first day of the event.
