The ‘God’s Not Dead: We The People,’ first look at new Christian movie, seems to promise the same powerful story of faith from the first three ‘God’s Not Dead’ films.
I thought we only got a trilogy of these beautiful stories — now there’s a fourth!
The film that started it all, ‘God’s Not Dead’ was released in 2014 and told the story of a college student that refused to complete his philosophy professor’s assignment — sign a piece of paper that says, “God is dead and never existed.”
The sequel, ‘God’s Not Dead 2,’ came out in 2016 starring Melissa Joan Hart as a teacher that goes to court for quoting the bible in her history class.
After the success of the first two movies, Pure Flix released ‘God’s Not Dead: A Light In Darkness.’ This story follows a congregation defending its rights after being pushed off of campus. Since the on-campus church burned down, the administration initially managed to get rid of the church members.
And because the world can never have too much faith, hope, or love for Christ, we are blessed with the upcoming fourth film, ‘God’s Not Dead: We The People.”
This film brings a handful of characters from the previous movies to tell this next story of God’s light. It also introduces actors Isaiah Washington and William Forsythe as leads alongside the returning actor, David A.R. White.
These characters and many others will tell a story about Reverend Dave (David A.R. White) standing up for a local Christian homeschooling group against government intervention.
David shared that this upcoming story was inspired by film classics, ‘It’s A Wonderful Life’ and ‘Mr. Smith Goes to Washington.’
I know the fourth movie hasn’t debuted yet and won’t until later this year, but I hope this film series keeps going! It’s always a breath of fresh air when faith-based stories make it on the big screen!
