‘As I went down in the river to pray
Studying about that good old way
And who shall wear the starry crown
Good Lord, show me the way!’

There’s truly nothing like a classic worship hymn to get your soul stirring for the Lord. There is just something about the words and tune that transport us back in time and make us lift our hands in the air to praise His name. Hymns definitely have a way of making us feel closer to the Lord and this particular song is the perfect example.

‘Down To The River To Pray’ is one of those classic hymns that we all sing along to. Today, we get to hear a very special rendition of this song as The Bethel College Choir performs this hymn inside a grain silo. Farmer Derek Klingenberg was more than happy to let the choir utilize his space for this special song. This talented group has performed all over the world and each performance is full of incredible vocals and praise for our Lord.

I just love hearing the unique sound that is created by standing inside a silo. It truly gives this classic hymn a special feel and it’s a rendition that you won’t soon forget. These college students definitely have a God-given talent for singing and I’m so glad that they are using that gift to give praise to His name. My heart needed to hear this today and it’s such a blessing, indeed. Who else is going to put this one on repeat?
