12-year-old pianist Jacob Velazquez inspired the judges with his original song on America’s Got Talent.
This young talent is not your ordinary contestant. When Jacob stepped out onto the stage, he came prepared with personality and colorful poster board. He shared with the curious judges that this was his vision board.
Jacob explained that he is a very motivated young man with dreams and goals. He places all of his aspirations on this board and works hard until they come true.
Aside from his musical dreams, Jacob shared another heartfelt reason why he was led to audition for AGT. “I want to be on ‘America’s Got Talent’ to show people that just because you have some kind of disability or some kind of diagnosis doesn’t mean you’re not capable of great things.”
Jacob revealed that he was diagnosed with PDDNOS, which is short for Pervasive Developmental Disorder – Not Otherwise Specified. Jacob explained that his condition is similar to Asperger’s and can cause speech delays. But there is definitely nothing holding back this incredible young man as he sits behind the piano and plays an incredible, original song.
The judges were already in awe of Jacob’s contagious personality and his musical talent was the cherry on top. After receiving a round of applause, Jacob earned four ‘yes’ votes to move on to the next stage of competition. I am so excited to see what Jacob has in store for his next performance.
Who else is going to be watching out for this rising star?
