Take a step back in time as this bluegrass family band performs ‘The Crawdad Song.’ As you hear these lyrics, there’s no doubt you’ll be transported to another time and place.
“You get a line and I'll get a pole, honey
You get a line and I'll get a pole, babe
You get a line and I'll get a pole
We'll go fishin' in the crawdad hole honey, baby mine”
The Petersens are a family band from Branson, Missouri. The band consists of siblings, Katie, Ellen, Matt, and Julianne, mom Karen, and family friend Emmett Franz.
This bluegrass ensemble has traveled all around the world sharing their musical talents, but you can normally find them at home in Branson. For ten seasons, The Petersens have performed at the Little Opry Theatre in the Branson IMAX Entertainment Complex.
Today, they’re taking us back with their unique rendition of ‘The Crawdad Song’ made famous by The Andy Griffith Show.
“Sell your crawdads three for a dime, honey
Sell your crawdads three for a dime, babe
Sell your crawdads three for a dime
Your crawdads ain't good as mine honey, baby mine”
On YouTube, the family shared the inspiration behind recording this classic song. “We grew up watching the Andy Griffith Show and when we were coming up with songs for the new album, we knew we had to choose one from Andy's front porch. Hope you enjoy this Americana classic!”
This song was a much-needed dose of nostalgia! Who else agrees?
