America’s Got Talent is a program that features some of the most talented and gifted individuals. Recently, one of those contestants that have been most impressive has been Tom Ball.
Tom, a schoolteacher from England, has consistently blown everyone away with his powerful voice. His rendition of Simon and Garfunkel’s classic “The Sound of Silence” was astounding. Not only did he hit high note after high note, but he also put a bit of a twist on the tune, making it his own.
Tom returned to the stage on America’s Got Talent: All-Stars and tackled yet another classic song. This one was from the band Queen. With the kids from the Voices of Hope Children’s Choir backing him up, Tom sang “Who Wants to Live Forever,” the video posted on YouTube shows.
Tom, wearing a black jacket and slacks, stands at the front of the stage as the choir of 50 children are on risers behind him. On the screen, in the background, is a blue space-type image. Everything on stage works together brilliantly to match the song's melancholy lyrics.
“There’s no chance for us
It’s all decided for us
This world has only one sweet moment set aside for us”
Yet again, Tom turns in another breathtaking performance. He time and again shows that his voice is more than capable of hitting the high notes whenever a song demands it.
The entire studio audience and even Simon Cowell love Tom’s performance. At about the 1:15-minute mark in the clip, Simon flashes a big smile.
By the conclusion of the performance, everyone stands up and applauds what they have just heard, even the judges!
Simon was so impressed that he was heard informing his fellow judges, “That was great!”
James 5:13 “Is any among you suffering? Let him pray. Is any cheerful? Let him sing praises.”
