A church’s unique “blowball” game is pure entertainment. Lincoln Berean, a church in Lincoln, Nebraska, found a new way to bring some fun to its Christmas party with an odd game they call blowball. Watch the clip to see the incredibly entertaining and highly competitive blowball match.

Sports and games are always some of the most popular entertainment choices. The Super Bowl is the most watched event on television every year, with companies spending absurd amounts of money to run commercials during the big game. Of course, the World Series, NCAA Tournament and NBA Finals closely follow the Super Bowl in viewership numbers.

People love watching sports and seeing others compete against one another. They can get rather passionate about their teams. Some people, especially football fans, slather themselves in their team’s colors whenever they trek to the stadium to see their team perform in person. However, as one short but hilarious clip shows, there could soon be a new game that causes people to cover their faces and bodies in their team’s colors: blowball.

A handful of people kneel around a ping-pong table in the nearly three-minute clip. The only parts of the competitors visible are their faces. It’s one of the few games and competitions where height or speed does not come in handy.

A few moments into the clip, a ping-pong ball is placed on the table. That simple solitary act is followed by several minutes of the competitors forcefully blowing, eagerly hoping to change the direction and path of the white-colored ball.

As with any good, classic game, there is much back-and-forth, literally. The white ball crisscrosses the table; not a single inch of the table is left untouched by the ball. The competitors give it all they’ve got, continually huffing and puffing, seeking to get the ball to move in their team’s favor.

However, at the end of the day, as with every game, there is a winner and a loser. On the winner’s side, there is cheering and high-fiving all around. However, there is only agony for the team that came up short and on the losing end as they desperately await a possible re-match where they might be able to even the score.

Proverbs 17:22 “A glad heart makes a healthy body, but a crushed spirit makes the bones dry.”
