Kick up your heels and kick off the holidays with this rousing a cappella cover of Mariah Carey’s ‘All I Want For Christmas is You.’ The 1994 Christmas classic is immediately recognizable. However, you may not know the group performing the perennial favorite in this toe-tapping video. Meet Perpetuum Jazzile!

Don’t try to keep the singers straight in your mind as they flash across the screen amid a myriad of holiday activities and fun. Santa, moonlighting as a soundman or music producer, starts the party, and it doesn’t stop for nearly three minutes.

The joint is jumping! There are table-top sleigh rides, lively gift exchanges, tree trimming, and reindeer-themed congo lines. Friends meet under the mistletoe, warm near a roaring fire, and chow down on beautifully decorated sugar cookies. And the red! It’s everywhere!

Perpetuum Jazzile members (there are currently 46 of them, by the way) wear ruby lips, scarlet garland neck scarves, shimmering crimson ball ornament earrings, and blingy cardinal-colored sweaters. Several have beautiful flaming locks, too. They’re all decked out in photo booth glasses, festooned headbands, strands of lights, and smiles!

In addition to all of the visual goodness, PJ provides a feast for the ears! It’s incredible to watch these amazing voices come together. Each vocalist sings their part, and the combination of them all results in a delightful rendering of Ms. Carey’s holiday favorite. They vocalize and harmonize, snap and dance, point and play. One even crochets while at the microphone! That’s impressive!

Perpetuum Jazzile, a Slovenian musical group, was founded in 1983. Originally called Gaudeamus Chamber Choir, Perpetuum Jazille sings primarily a cappella, though not always. They sing in a variety of genres, including pop, jazz, bossa nova, funk, and soul.

When the song is over, and the cookie plate is cleared, the crooning crew heads home, blowing a kiss and leaving Santa to turn out the lights. It sure was a fun one while it lasted!

“Sing joyfully to the Lord, you righteous; it is fitting for the upright to praise him.” Psalms 33:1
