The legendary Sammy Davis Jr. and Bob Hope had some absolutely side-splitting bloopers while attempting to do a song and dance number together.
Everyone makes mistakes. No one is perfect—far from it. Blunders, failures, flaws and blemishes are a part of life and are here to stay as long as human beings remain on Earth. Errors and oversights are a fact of life and one that we must all accept.
However, while everyone fails and messes up, not all mistakes are equal. Some are much more serious than others, with the fallout from some false or wrong moves resulting in deadly or life-altering consequences. Some others may be much more light-hearted and not nearly as consequential.
In a clip posted on YouTube, Sammy and Bob are trying to rehearse and prepare a song and dance number. But they aren't having much luck. Instead, the two iconic entertainers continue to experience one hilarious blunder after another.
No matter how often they try and they do it constantly, they can never get it right. When they aren't tripping up because they flub a line or miss a dance step, one is causing the other to break into laughter. But even in their mistakes, those two are still much funnier than most of the population.
The video begins with Bob and Sammy attempting to introduce themselves in the sketch. Bob states who he is, and then Sammy says, "he's confused" because he only had one eye and it was not looking in the direction of the cue card.
Thanks to their quick wit, Bob and Sammy keep each other laughing. Bob has several hysterical jokes and comebacks that have Sammy and the studio audience cracking up. Arguably, his best one is when he comments on Sammy's dancing ability.
"You dance like Fred," Bob tells Sammy.
"Astaire?" Sammy asks.
“No, Flintstone,” Bob shoots back.
