Popular country music artist Tim McGraw has revealed his top four musical inspirations.
Everyone draws inspiration from someone else. It doesn’t matter who you are or what you do; someone else will always move and motivate you to do more or strive to be better. Inspiration and motivation can come from anyone.
That’s a great reminder that people may not always remember or even listen to your words. However, people are constantly watching your actions. They want to see if your actions match your words or if they are empty and meaningless, which is, sadly, like most people today.
In a clip posted on social media, Tim mentioned the four people he draws musical inspiration from and who he has tried to emulate and model his career after. Some of his biggest inspirations may be surprising, while others may not.
The first person Tim mentions is Merle Haggard, whom he affectionately refers to as “The Hag.” Tim refers to him as “one of his favorite singer-songwriters of all time” and his “favorite vocalist of all time.”
He then mentions Bruce Springsteen, calling him one of the greatest live performers ever. Tim adds that Bruce is a great guy who consistently brings tons of fun and energy to his performances.
Next on Tim’s list is, of course, Elvis Presley. He says that he has always been a big fan of Elvis and that his wife, Faith Hill, is also a big fan of the “King of Rock and Roll.”
The fourth and last person on Tim’s list of his biggest musical inspirations is probably the biggest curveball of them all: Prince. He called him “fantastic,” one of the best live performers ever, and a nice guy who “rips” on any instrument he played.
Tim states that these people are individuals he looks up to as songwriters, singers and performers.
