Country music superstar Brad Paisley has been married for 20 years, and on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, he performed a hilarious tune about one of the keys to a happy, loving and long-lasting marriage.
Marriage is a life-changing and lifelong commitment between two people. It’s a promise that no matter what happens in life – good or bad – those two people will remain together forever. As anyone knows, marriage is not always easy. In fact, there will be tough times and periods of disagreement. But having a sense of humor can go a long way in creating a happy and healthy relationship.
In a clip posted on YouTube, Brad sang an original tune of his, which he says he wrote for his now-wife after she asked him to write a song for her. She wanted something special for their wedding day.
Originally, he says he remembers being a little annoyed at her request. But eventually, he gave in and wrote his now-wife a song. It’s a song he has never released and one that he performed for her on their wedding day.
In the clip, Brad reaches over the couch, picks up a guitar, and is soon strumming along on the instrument, singing the lyrics to the laugh-out-loud song about marriage.
The song begins with Brad singing how the love of his life is not into big, flashy gifts or displays of affection. She doesn’t even want jewelry or another dress. Instead, he has learned, he sings, one much easier way to show her how much he cares.
“If I want to show her how much I adore her
The best way that I’ve found
Is to make sure when I’m finished
I put that toilet seat down”
Jimmy and the entire studio audience erupted with laughter and applause at Brad’s hysterically funny song.
