“One Life,” an upcoming film starring Anthony Hopkins, tells the story of one man and how he made a difference to hundreds of children, saving their lives during one of history’s darkest moments.

It’s commonly stated that one person cannot cause much change in the world. What difference can the actions of one man or one woman really make? How could the efforts of one ordinary human impact others? The answer to those frequently asked inquiries is more than anyone could ever imagine.

The trailer for the film “One Life” stars two-time Academy Award-winner Anthony Hopkins as Nicholas Winton. Nicholas, as IMDB states, was a British humanitarian during WWII. During this time, Hitler and his German forces were systematically killing Jewish people, trying to exterminate them from the face of the earth.

As the trailer explains, Nicholas, during a visit to Prague, encountered thousands of refugees who were at the “mercy of Hitler’s imminent invasion.” Moved by what he saw, Nicholas got to work, helping to relocate hundreds of children to safety. The children were moved from Nazi-occupied Czechoslovakia to Britain.

At one point in the trailer, one character asks a young Nicholas why he is spending so much time and energy helping to save those children. His reply is short, sweet and convicting to anyone who has witnessed an injustice but turned a blind eye.

“Because I may be able to do something about it,” he says. “I must.”

Later in the clip, someone else tells Nicholas that he places a lot of faith in ordinary people. Nicholas states that's because “he is an ordinary person.”

The New York Times reports Nicholas Winton rescued the lives of nearly 700 children in total.

In addition to Anthony Hopkins, “One Life” stars Helena Bonham Carter, Lena Olin and Jonathan Pryce.
