Using his beautiful voice and immense musical talent, Iam Tongi is trying to help those impacted by the devastating wildfires in Hawaii.
Wildfires have been ravaging the state of Hawaii. More specifically, the fires have devastated the island of Maui, killing more than 100 people and causing billions of dollars in damage, according to the Scientific American. There’s no doubt that those people who have been affected by those fires need plenty of prayer and financial donations to help them survive this tragedy.
One person, recent American Idol winner Iam Tongi, is doing his part to help raise awareness and money to help the people of his home state. In a clip posted on YouTube, Iam appeared on Good Morning America and performed his tune “Starting All Over Again.”
As he did throughout the most recent season of American Idol, Iam’s soulful and melodic voice told a story. The story he told was one with a positive and uplifting message, pushing people to keep going and not give up hope.
“Starting all over again is going to be tough
For us, but we’re gonna make it
Starting all over again is going to be rough
On us, but we gotta face it”
Later in the clip, Iam sings that he understands that rebuilding and starting all over again will be hard but he is praying to the Lord above for His help and guidance.
Before his performance on the morning show, Iam told Michael Strahan what people could do to help the residents of Hawaii. He told people to research and donate to those trustworthy organizations working to assist those in need.
The young man also asked people to reach out to the Lord on behalf of the people of Hawaii. He told viewers to “say prayers for Maui.”
Psalm 28:7 “The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoices; and with my song will I praise him.”
