Life can often include devastating, horrible circumstances. People get knocked down by life and a helpful hand or a kind word can make a world of difference. One talented group of children sang about the importance of working together to help one another during these times.

The Voices of Hope Children’s Choir on America’s Got Talent sang For King + Country’s “Together.” The children, singing about battling life’s rough patches together, performed on a beautifully lit and decorated stage.

Near the front of the stage, “Hope” is spelled in big bright purple letters.

The director stands near the judges’ table as she leads the children in their fantastic rendition of the hit song.

The song’s heartfelt chorus is like a love letter to anyone struggling with any issue. Though someone may feel alone and as if no one in the world cares or understands their situation, that is not the case the chorus mentions. It’s a song about hope!

“If you’re feelin’ alone and don’t understand

If you’re fightin’ in the fight of your life, then stand

We’re gonna make it through this hand-in-hand”

When it came time to hear the judges’ feedback, most, but not everyone, was impressed with the choir’s performance.

Heidi Klum showered the children and the choir director with praise.

“I feel like you exude positivity,” she said. “And we are a family here at America’s Got Talent and I feel like you’re a part of it. I just loved it. I love you guys.”

Howie Mandel did like their song, but wanted more from the choir.

“I think what you do is wonderful,” he said. “That being said, on a show called AGT: All-Stars, this doesn’t, for me, personally, rise above a really nice school assembly.”

Simon Cowell was more complimentary of the kids’ performance.

“We do have a lot of choirs on the show and some of them are technically brilliant and really boring,” he said. “And there’s others who aren’t quite so polished but make you feel great, and you fall under that category, which is, you just made me feel really good.”

1 Thessalonians 5:11 “So then, go on comforting and building up one another, as you have been doing.”
