Check out this live performance of The Gatlin Brothers and Squire Parsons singing ‘Sweet Beulah Land.’
“Beulah Land (Beulah Land) I'm longing for you (I'm longing for you)
And some day (And some day) on thee I'll stand (Someday we will stand)
There my home (There my home) shall be eternal (Eternal)"
What a great performance! The Gatlin Brothers start off singing first, and their harmonies sound incredible. Then a choir joins them in song, and then Squire Parson joins in on the verse. All of them sound so amazing together, and their performance of ‘Sweet Beulah Land’ is just wonderful.
"Beulah Land, sweet Beulah Land, I'm kind of homesick for a country
To which I've never been before. No sad goodbyes will there be spoken
For time won't matter anymore.”
Composer and performer Squire Parsons wrote ‘Sweet Beulah Land’ in 1973, and the lyrics of the song focus on heaven and how wonderful it will be.
When talking about how the song came together, Squire Parsons said that the phrase just kept coming to him, and he began writing down all of the lyrics that were running through his mind on a scrap piece of paper. The song was not recorded though for another six years, until 1979.
Then in 1981, ‘Sweet Beulah Land’ was the number one Southern Gospel Single. The song also won the Singing News Fan Awards for Song of the Year that same year.
We hope that you enjoyed listening to this live performance of ‘Sweet Beulah Land’ by The Gatlin Brothers and Squire Parsons. May the song be an encouragement to you and uplift your spirit today!
