It is a beautiful moment captured on film when this rescue pilot saves a baby chimp and flies him to safety.

Mussa was just an infant chimpanzee when he was taken away from his mother and home and held captive. Now, Mussa is 3 years old and he is finally being rescued from his captivity.

For years, this sweet chimpanzee has been at a private home in a town called Beni, located in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Thankfully, the time has come to take Mussa to a safe and open sanctuary.

Mussa has no reason to trust people, but when he got into the cockpit of his rescue plane, he immediately took to the rescue pilot, Caere. Then, these two shared the sweetest journey to Mussa’s new home at a sanctuary.

Just watch as Mussa crawls into Caere’s lap, even though there was a very comfortable seat right beside him. The entire flight, this adorable chimpanzee mimics every single move that Caere makes including looking out the window and putting his hand on the throttle.

These special moments of bonding were all caught on camera and it is absolutely adorable to witness. Caere definitely made Mussa’s flight to his new home as stress-free and happy as possible.

Now, Mussa will be able to recover in the sanctuary and eventually return to the wild. And it was all made possible because of selfless and caring people like Caere and the workers at the sanctuary. What an amazing group of people!
