This dancing granny isn’t letting age stop her from stealing the show in this viral dance routine! To say Shirley Clements, a 60 year old dancer, got through her dance routine is a gross understatement. Pumping the infectious pop tune “Uptown Funk,” Clements not only danced with dozens of kids decades younger than her, she was the center of attention bustin’ moves most of us wish we had in our dance arsenal.

With ease, the dancin’ granny kept pace, move after move, exhibiting accurate “poppin’ and lockin’” on the beat. She slid across the dance floor, wowing the audience with her endless energy! Now, after some internet detective work we did find out Ms. Shirley Clements, is not just a regular dancing 60 year old who just happened to show her moves to these kids. In fact, she is a dance instructor in British Columbia, Canada who is retiring. She joined her students for a proper send off during their annual competition called “Out break” and boy did she break out! Pulling out all the stops, she displayed jumps, heel kicks, booty slaps and even a break-dance head spin at the end.

Age really is just a state of mind. Ms. Clements is living proof that if we keep things moving and take care of our bodies, we too can be dancing with such vigor long after we reach over the hill status. Such an inspiration to all of her students! Whatever is in store for Ms. Shirley in this new chapter in her life, we certainly hope to see her still dancing.
