Gymnast Shannon Evans is making headlines after her Mario-themed floor routine went viral. This BYU athlete wanted to add some fun into her performance and that’s exactly what she did.

Shannon has always been a fan of the popular video game, Super Mario Brothers. So, when it came time for a match against Utah, this talented gymnast decided to pull out all the stops. Shannon used the iconic Super Mario Brothers song as the music for her floor routine. She even incorporated movements and scenes from the famous game.

If you listen closely you can hear the electronic sounds of jumps and coins that have become synonymous with the video game. This impressive routine earned Shannon a score of 9.900 out of 10 and praise from the judges.

After the video was posted online, it quickly spread around the Internet. This isn’t the first time a gymnast routine has gone viral. Recently, Katelyn Ohashi earned praise with her perfect 10 floor routine. The talented performance garnered millions of views in a matter of days.

Gymnasts train incredibly hard to pull of these seemingly easy moves. There are countless hours of practice and many many mistakes before perfection is reached. These incredible athletes don’t always get the respect that they deserve, so it is so refreshing to see their hard work and creativity being recognized.

Shannon is definitely making a name for herself with this performance. I cannot wait to see what kind of routine she comes up with next. How about you?
