In this day and age, it’s getting harder and harder to find good and honest people. It seems that a lot of people have ulterior motives and are not looking to do the right thing. That’s why it’s so important to highlight those amazing people that go above and beyond to maintain good morals. And that’s exactly what happened with 13-year-old Haylie Wenke and her friends.
Haylie was out riding bikes with her little brother and friend when they came across a wallet in a driveway. There was no one around and the wallet contained $700 in cash. But Haylie didn’t hesitate to do the right thing and went right up to the house and rang the doorbell. No one was home, but the owner’s video camera alerted the kids that they could record a message. That’s when these kind-hearted children let the camera know that they had found the wallet and would be putting it in a safe place by the door for when the owner returned.
“We found your wallet outside of your car and we just thought we would give it back to you. I’m going to put it over here so no one takes the money.” When the homeowner saw the video message, he decided to post the video online so that he could find these honest children. He wanted to personally thank Haylie and her friends for doing the right thing. It’s truly so heartwarming to watch the younger generation show off their good, honest behavior. I’m so proud of these kids right now.
