In 1995, David Lasseter dropped off his oldest daughter at college. On the drive home, he cried like a baby because he was going to miss her so much.
When he got home that night, he decided to write her a postcard and mail it to his daughter. And he’s done this virtually every day since for all 4 of his kids whenever they are not with him. David has sent nearly 20,000 postcards to his children over a span of 20 years.
Every single card is unique and the conversation could be from anything to his gardening to the recent football game. But this loving father said it was never about starting new conversations, it was about making sure his children knew that he loved them and always would.
This sweet tradition has truly touched a special place in his children’s hearts and it definitely gave me a lot of feels. What do you think of this amazing man’s postcards?
